Wire Industries Inc has received approval in principle from the Gibraltar regulator to launch its prediction market operations. The company plans to establish its international base in the jurisdiction later this year.
The license approval allows Wire Markets Ltd, the subsidiary of Wire Industries, to operate as a regulated entity in Gibraltar. Minister for Justice, Trade and Industry Nigel Feetham stated that the jurisdiction aims to license the prediction market vertical. He noted that WagerWire aligns with the region's regulatory framework and international gaming standards.
Launch Timeline and Company Vision
The operator intends to activate the product later this year, coinciding with the start of the NFL and international football league seasons. CEO Zach Doctor described the approval as a transformational opportunity for the company. He stated that Wire Markets represents a natural extension of their vision to introduce flexibility and liquidity into traditional sports betting.
WagerWire launched in 2023 as a secondary marketplace for online sports wagering, allowing users to buy and sell active bets. The company operates from Los Angeles. In March, ADI Predictstreet became the first prediction market to receive a Gibraltar license.
