Kambi reported that bet builder wagers made up 20 percent of all live bets during the group stage. This represents a substantial increase compared to the 2022 tournament, where such bets accounted for only three percent of the total. Player props also ranked within the top five pre-match betting markets by turnover.
Oliver Lamb, senior vice president of risk at Kambi, stated that the 2026 FIFA World Cup represents a major opportunity for the betting industry. He noted that data from over 70 partners in 60 jurisdictions demonstrates the growing importance of live bet builders. Regarding individual player markets, Erling Haaland generated 60 percent of player prop turnover in his matches.
